Between 2011 and 2014 I co-produced the annual TEDxSheffield event, alongside Herb Kim and his team at Thinking Digital.

We ran 4 very successful events showcasing a host of international and local speakers, all with “Ideas Worth Sharing” (TEDxSheffield also ran in 2009 and 2010 before my involvement with the series). Our ethos was never to provide a theme, but to take the audience on an intellectual and emotional journey, which they were free to interpret however they wished, to curate the event in a way that themes would flow into each other where possible, and above all to provide a platform for smaller, local stories to take a place shoulder-to-shoulder with bigger, more globally significant stories, and for local more inexperienced speakers to take the stage alongside seasoned professionals without any discernible drop off in quality. This is what we prided ourselves on producing, and it produces many terrific performances and talk videos.

We would very much like to bring the series back to Sheffield, and Herb and I are always open to hear from potential funders to help make that happen 🙂
